Black History Month

As Black History Month (BHM) comes to an end, figured I'd honor the shortest month of the year by reminiscing on BHM's of yore--namely from when I was in high school.

This particular BHM I'm thinking of, my baby Moe & I were enrolled in the same class at the same time. It was kinda like "Take Your Kid to School Day."

...Everyday.

Because he & I are basically the same damn age 🙄🧬

Anyways. Moe was actin' a plum fool how he usually do but this day he decided to go for the gold, so to speak, & roast up our teacher Miss Fleming, a.k.a. "Waking Up with Flem' in the Morning" 😳

Now, Miss Fleming was one of those old-school respectable a$$ teachers that really don't play... AT ALL. 

So for Moe to flame her up--of all people--was a *really* big deal.

The day of, things transpired as usual. Miss Fleming did roll call--Moe himself made sure *EVERYBODY* was present for this one, haha--then launched right into that day's lesson (whatever it was, lol).

As soon as there was a natural break in speech for Miss Fleming to catch her breath before resuming teaching, Moe blurted out:

Why whenever you take your bra off, "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" starts playing⁉️

Dawg!!! 

I didn't know whether to d!e of laughter or pure embarrassment in that moment 🎭

*OF COURSE* Moe got sent to the principal's office with the quickness... for what, exactly, I just don't know; so the principal could laugh his 🍑 off, too???

I mean, *YES* my baby had the entire classroom of kids thinkin' bout Miss Fleming's old lady b00bs dragging the ground. But with the negro spiritual reference, Moe's not-so-innocent question was still relevant AF, it being BHM & all.

...At least that's what I told the principal when he wanted to speak to Moe's mom about the situation 🤷🏾‍♀️

And with that one, not-so-innocent question of Moe's, my wild, zany, entirely *TOO* large family became known to the administrative staff at school that day. 

As I always tell my kids--but especially my baby Moe:
