My triple OG ancestor Freda was essentially the straight-woman to her mama Carrie & their family’s nonsense.
Freda was a world-class entertainer in her own right, though in a very different way than her mother. Freda’s charm was genuine, whereas her mama’s was super glib.
Nowhere in Carrie’s definition of a Bad B!tch were the words “good mother,” & Freda paid the price most dearly.
They were at odds most of Freda’s life, mainly due to Carrie’s unchecked n@rç!$$!$t!ç personality disorder.
Freda was raised mostly by her older sister Willie Mae, not knowing very much about her personal background--other than their mom led a free-wheeling lifestyle that frequently left the girl in the care of older siblings & extended family.
Freda was left on her own so often, she eventually became a ward of the state. That never stopped Carrie from tracking her down & rescuing her from foster care--each time with a new, different kid of hers in tow.
One of these times, Carrie popped up with a little bad a$$ YT-presenting kid who would *not* stop proclaiming his Blackness… or raising complete h3ll 🔥
Freda didn’t think much of it at the time:
When not incarcerated or on the road for work, Carrie could usually be found with somebody’s child, if not one of her many own.
As it turns out, the boy was Freda’s full--not half--little brother, though the siblings looked nothing alike.
...Immediately, Freda wondered who their dad was.
Carrie never said definitively who sired Freda, dÿ!ñg with that info circa the late-1950s. After Freda’s last stint in foster care, though, Carrie whisked the girl & her YT-presenting little brother away to be raised by Carrie’s new (at the time), wealthy German employer & lifestyle sponsor, Karl.
Karl LOVEDDDD him some Carrie, though his YT wife W@lbürg@ felt otherwise 🥴
Karl’s family was known the world over for their agricultural business, but even in his extensive travels, Karl had never come across someone as captivating as Carrie… that is, until their daughter Freda came to live with them.
Karl essentially trained his young YT-presenting Black son J0$3f to be as completely obsessed with a very specific type of Black woman as Karl, himself, was.
I mean, I get the hype. But neither Carrie *nor* Freda was a “typical” anything, much less a typical Black woman.

As an adult, Freda wound up adopting several children, though--thanks to her dad & little brother’s genetic experimentation--she “naturally” had her own fair share of progeny, just like her mama Carrie, that were mostly (if not entirely) delivered via surrogacy.
Freda wasn’t even aware her dad & brother J0$3f did this with her DNA until it was far too late. Her brother eventually sent her on a global quest to track down all her/their relatives born via this process, like some kind of sick game.
One of the many, many kids born this way turned out to be a doozy of a child by the name of C0ñst@ñçe…
