Beware the sting of a killa b33... might be fatal to your ego 🐝
"I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually."
~ J. Baldwin in Notes of a Native Son (1955)
On this, the 247th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (a.k.a. America's b-day, y'all), I'd like to take a moment & reflect on the sad state of our nation today.
It's a whole lot of lost a$$ 🥷🏾s out there, followers.
That's #TRUTH.
And #FACTS.
People outchea blaming Democrats/Republicans/SCOTUS reps/Black, YT, tr@ns, etc. people/'women-slash-birthing people' people/'literally everybody but they mommas' a$$ people for some ish that is *clearly* only attributable to a select & tragic few:
.
Those afflicted with an enslaved mentality.
.
An enslaved mentality can affect anyone, regardless of skin tone, economic class, ancestral history, geographic location, etc. etc.
I proudly self-identify as a freethinking Black American; from that perspective, I don't think slavery ever *really* ended--especially for Black folks.
I mean, it took damn near three years for word to reach Texas that Lincoln finally freed the slaves... it's like some of these negroes never got the message, despite it being 150+ years later 🤯
That's why I say--despite the hardships & triumphs ancestors like Abe Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, MLK, Jr., & so many others have endured in the name of advancing Black culture--some of these n!gs ain't #NEVA gon' get *truly* free.
Freedom from this particular type of enslavement--any kind of enslavement, for real for real--only comes from *within*, y'all.
I wish I could write a compact list of all the myriad ways in which somebody could achieve this for themselves, but fact is, setting oneself free is a very individualistic process.
For me, the process began when I first started getting locked up as a toddler alongside my shifty a$$ grandma/great-aunt (🙄😒) Aunt C0nn!e.
Spending all those long, seemingly endless hours in the clink waiting for my con-woman BBW older female relative to sober up & make sense again really drilled home a saying I still, periodically, repeat to myself in present day:
.
You *might* can (temporarily) incarcerate my body, MPD/America, but you'll *NEVERRRRRR* incarcerate my mind!!!
🔑🙅🏾♀️🧠
.
I'm sure even the great Harriet Tubman would agree that you can lead a negro to freedom, but you *for damn sure* can't force said negro to accept the freedom offered to it 🤷🏾♀️ #ItIsWhatItIs
To those of you celebrating today, I invite you to look within yourselves as you grill those hamburgers & stuff those hotdogs in your faces (lmao 😂); step outside of your own lived American experience & consider the possibility that a multitude of avenues exist through which we all can identify, express, commune, & *release* the centuries of built-up tension & aggression this country of ours has forever laid right at our collective feet.
Just like there's a million & one ways to be a Black person in America, there's a trillion & one ways to *generally* be an American citizen, too, my babies.

America (a.k.a. 'Murrica/'AmeriKKKa'), #HBDwh0re 🥳🇺🇸🎆
